Attic Insulation information for Branson Homeowners
BLOWN-IN ATTIC INSULATION
In Branson, MO, blown-in attic insulation is gaining popularity annually, offering numerous advantages over traditional fiberglass batts or rolls. The quick and easy installation makes it ideal for various homes, particularly older houses, as it can be efficiently blown into attics. Explore our two types of blown-in insulation options for efficient and hassle-free solutions: fiberglass and cellulose.
Blown-In Fiberglass Insulation
The fiberglass based blown-in insulation is made from molten glass that is spun into fibers. Most manufacturers use 20%–30% recycled glass content.Blown-In Cellulose Insulation
Blown-in cellulose insulation is composed of up to 85% recycled newsprint. The remaining content is most commonly a mixture of ammonium sulfate and borate that functions as a fire retardant. These chemicals also deter insects, rodents, and mold. Because Blown-in insulation is loose material, it can take any shape and is much easier to fit into oddly shaped spaces such as vaulted ceilings.Guaranteed Bag Count
All loose-filled insulation settles after installation — by Federal law and industry standards, blown-in fiberglass and cellulose is specified and sold at installed and settled density. The bag count and weight of material on the product coverage chart provides specific information on the amount of material that must be installed in order to produce the specified R-Value. Bolivar Insulation guarantees the correct bag count by providing UPC codes for the appropriate number of bags installed.

FAQs
What is the best Attic insulation?
There are many variables that come into play when selecting the best insulation (budget, efficiency needs, and structural information). While each insulation has it’s own place and strengths, we typically say spray foam insulation is best (if cost prohibits), with fiberglass, and cellulose following closely behind.
How much Attic insulation do I need?
We refer to local municipal code requirements to ensure we are prescribing at least the code requirement – it never hurts to exceed the code requirement. Most of the code requirements within our service area are at an R-38 minimum
Can I add to my existing attic insulation?
You can absolutely add to your existing attic insulation. We recommend keeping the insulation type the same when doing this. For those wanting to change their insulation type, we recommend having us remove the existing insulation and re-insulate completely.
